Apple has announced macOS Tahoe 26, the latest Mac software update that delivers a slew of features designed specifically for power users and productivity enthusiasts.

While Tahoe brings visual polish aligned with iOS and iPadOS, its most notable upgrades focus on what makes the Mac experience unique—ranging from a redesigned Terminal with 24-bit color and Powerline glyphs, to expanded automation via Shortcuts that can now respond to real-world triggers like battery level, file changes, or connecting an external display.

Other key features include Markdown support and call transcription in Notes, enhanced Picture in Picture controls in Safari, and deep folder personalization with emojis and color tints. Apple has also introduced Pinned Collections in Photos for easier album access.

Brought Vehicle Motion Cues to the Mac for improved comfort in moving vehicles, and added gaming enhancements like Low Power Mode during gameplay and easier controller pairing. macOS Tahoe 26 is a clear signal that Apple remains committed to advancing the Mac platform for both professional and casual users.
