KUALA LUMPUR, August 11 – Kuala Lumpur City FC kicked off their 2025/26 Super League campaign in style with a 3-0 victory over newcomers Imigresen FC at the Negeri Pulau Pinang Stadium in Batu Kawan last night.
The breakthrough came in the 30th minute when IFC defender Mohd Rizal Mohd Ghazali inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, before Safawi Rasid doubled the lead with a precise header in the 56th minute from Manuel Hidalgo’s free kick.
Hidalgo then sealed the win from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute, while KL City goalkeeper Quincy Kammeraad denied IFC a lifeline by saving Joao Pedro’s penalty earlier in the second half.
Elsewhere, Kuching City FC cruised to a 4-0 triumph over Kelantan TRW, with Cameroon’s Ronald Ngah Wanja netting twice, complemented by goals from Timor Leste’s Joao Pedro and Muhammad Ramadhan Saifullah Usman.
At the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, PDRM FC avoided a shock defeat against Brunei’s DPMM FC after South Korean import Park Tae-su scored twice in four minutes to secure a 2-2 draw, cancelling out early strikes by Muhammad Ramadhan Sananta and Miguel Oliveira.
