KUALA LUMPUR, September 8 – In conjunction with Malaysia’s chairmanship of the 2025 ASEAN Summit, the exhibition and fashion show ASEAN Art and Textiles: A World of Seams and Seamlessness will take place at Yap Ah Shak House, jointly organised by CULT Gallery and Samyama Sdn Bhd.
The showcase highlights ASEAN’s collective identity through traditional textiles, contemporary art, and cross-cultural influences, from batik and ikat weaving to shared narratives shaped by Austronesian migrations and Indian epics.
Featuring 19 artists across the region, the exhibition reimagines textiles as both heritage and innovation, blending traditional techniques with modern interpretations that explore sustainability, inclusivity, and collective memory.
Running from 30 August to 14 September 2025, the programme includes VIP previews, talks, gallery tours, and a fashion show, inviting the public to experience the cultural threads that continue to bind Southeast Asia together.
