PONTIAN, August 21 — A dental clinic in Pontian drew public attention after the Jalur Gemilang was displayed upside down alongside the Johor state flag, just days before the National Day celebration.
The incident, which went viral on social media, sparked dissatisfaction among the public who viewed it as a sign of insensitivity toward the national symbol.
Pontian MP and Deputy Works Minister Ahmad Maslan confirmed that the flag had been corrected and urged calm, stating that the authorities are already taking the necessary action.
He explained that the incident was due to human error by a staff member and stressed the importance of awareness and patriotism when handling the national flag.
Police have since launched an investigation following several reports lodged.
