PHUKET, September 14 — The 3rd ASEAN Battery Technology Conference (ABTC) gathered over 340 delegates from more than 20 countries, spotlighting ASEAN’s growing leadership in clean energy and advanced battery innovation.
Hosted by the Thailand Energy Storage Technology Association (TESTA) with regional partners, the event launched the ASEAN Battery Safety Network (ABSN) to harmonise standards, enhance safety, and accelerate deployment of next-gen battery solutions.
Key highlights included MoU signings on swappable batteries, grid-scale storage, and solid-state technology, as well as a keynote by Nobel Laureate Prof. Stanley Whittingham. Leaders from across ASEAN, including NanoMalaysia, Singapore Battery Consortium, and Indonesia’s NBRI.
Emphasised collaboration, circularity, and innovation as the region positions itself at the forefront of the global battery value chain.
