GEORGETOWN, September 27 – Gleneagles Hospital Penang proudly celebrates Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist, Dr. Suresh Kumarasamy, who has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asian Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (ASGO) in Tokyo, Japan.
Recognised for over three decades of pioneering work in women’s cancer care, research, and education, Dr. Suresh becomes the first Malaysian to receive this international honour, joining only ten distinguished recipients since 2009. Widely respected for his clinical expertise, leadership, and compassion.
His contributions—from establishing Northern Malaysia’s first subspecialty service in gynaecologic oncology to serving in key regional leadership roles—have transformed women’s healthcare across Asia, making this accolade a historic milestone for both Malaysia and the region.
