SEBERANG PERAI, September 10 — Penang’s tourism scene welcomed a fresh attraction today with the grand launch of the Penang River Cruise at the Sungai Juru jetty, officiated by State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman YB Wong Hon Wai.

Positioned as a new highlight in Seberang Perai’s tourism landscape, the cruise offers visitors a two-hour journey through mangroves, fishing villages, aquaculture farms, and scenic backdrops such as Bukit Juru, while also providing encounters with wildlife ranging from Silvered Leaf Monkeys to rare water snakes.

Passengers can further enjoy hands-on activities like crab trapping, net fishing, and clam gathering, making the cruise both experiential and educational. Wong said the attraction adds a nature-focused dimension to Penang’s internationally celebrated tourism portfolio, while also enriching Seberang Perai’s appeal alongside landmarks like Juru Auto City.

With ticket prices set at RM68 for adults, RM58 for children, students, seniors, and PWDs, and free entry for children under three, the Penang River Cruise promises not only stunning sunsets and biodiversity but also balanced growth for Penang’s tourism industry, strengthening Seberang Perai as a destination in its own right.
