KUALA LUMPUR, September 11 – Nokia has signed a contract with Extreme Broadband (EBB) and its subsidiary Open DC to upgrade Malaysia’s AI-driven data centers, strengthening security, performance, and operational efficiency in line with the nation’s National Cloud Computing Policy.
The deployment will interconnect six key data centers across Cyberjaya, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Kedah using Nokia’s Data Center Fabric, Data Center Gateway, and quantum-safe network solutions, providing enhanced resilience and scalability to meet the stringent demands of sectors such as banking and finance.
As part of the collaboration, Nokia and EBB have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop advanced data center and AI connectivity solutions, including quantum-safe networking, multi-cloud connectivity, and DDoS protection.
By integrating Nokia’s automation tools, high-performance interconnect routers, and energy-efficient systems, Open DC aims to establish Malaysia’s most strategic connectivity hubs while enabling enterprises to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
