GEORGE TOWN, September 10 — The Penang Department of Veterinary Services today hosted the Motivation Seminar and Signing Ceremony for the 2025 Veterinary Assistance Agreement, officiated by State EXCO for Agrotechnology, Food Security and Cooperative Development, YB Fahmi Zainol.
A total of 45 livestock farmers and entrepreneurs were selected to receive RM932,528.43 in aid, covering farm upgrades, breeding stock, feed crop development, and basic equipment. YB Fahmi highlighted that livestock contributes nearly 44% of Penang’s agricultural sales.
With the state’s Livestock Production Value rising to RM1.9 billion in 2024, urging recipients to use the support responsibly to boost productivity and competitiveness. Meanwhile, State DVS Director Dr. Saira Banu Mohamed Rejab emphasized that the seminar and aid program would inspire innovation and strengthen food security while fostering stronger collaboration within the livestock industry.
