GEORGE TOWN, September 24 — The government will roll out stricter anti-misuse mechanisms for the upcoming targeted RON95 subsidy, including limits on multiple daily refuelling, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said today.

Speaking at the launch of the Mega e-Invoice Roadshow 2025, he assured that safeguards will ensure the BUDI95 programme, which reduces RON95 to RM1.99 per litre for eligible Malaysians starting September 30, benefits only genuine recipients. Full details of these mechanisms will be announced soon.

Amir Hamzah also addressed concerns about potential leakages involving e-hailing and p-hailing drivers, noting that a flexible system allows additional applications with company verification and usage records.

He expressed confidence in the readiness of petrol stations nationwide, citing extensive testing of the Outdoor Payment Terminal system to deliver subsidies directly at the pump, while acknowledging minor disruptions may occur
