BUDI95: Targeted Fuel Subsidy Made Easy: BUDI95 is the government’s new targeted subsidy programme for RON95 petrol, giving eligible Malaysians with a valid MyKad and driving licence access to fuel at RM1.99 per litre, while non-citizens pay the market price of around RM2.60. Each citizen can enjoy up to 300 litres per month, covering the needs of nearly all private vehicle users.

The programme aims to stop misuse and subsidy leakages, ensuring savings are redirected to welfare initiatives like STR and SARA. From September 25, 2025, citizens can check eligibility through the official portal (www.budimadani.gov.my), Touch ’n Go eWallet, participating oil company apps, or by contacting the hotline (1300-88-9595).

Here’s a Step-by-Step Guide in Key Points for easy understanding of how to use BUDI95:

6. Important Notes

  • Driving licence must be valid → expired >3 years = subsidy not allowed.
  • No daily refill limit, but system monitors usage to prevent abuse.
  • Pump price applies once quota is used up (RM2.60/L).
  • BUDI95 subsidy available nationwide from 30 Sept 2025.

Officials assured that BUDI95 will not trigger inflation, as Malaysians still enjoy fuel at below-market prices. Instead, the reform is designed to strengthen fiscal discipline, cut the national deficit, and build investor confidence to support long-term economic growth. For those without internet access, assistance is available at any National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI).

In cases where MyKad cannot be read at the pump, station staff will carry out manual verification, while contingency systems are in place to ensure uninterrupted access during outages. Malaysians who encounter issues, such as incorrect quota deductions, may submit complaints through the official portal or hotline, supported by receipts and relevant evidence for review.
