BEIDAIHE, October 22 — The 2025 Inline Speed Skating World Championships concluded with historic performances, global milestones, and India’s emergence as a new powerhouse in the sport. Held from September 13 to 21, the Beidaihe event saw nine nations clinch gold.

But it was India’s Anandkumar Velkumar who stole the spotlight with double victories in the Senior Men’s Marathon and 1000m — marking the country’s first-ever world titles in speed skating. His wins, alongside junior champion Krish Sharma, inspired national celebration and recognition from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Colombia dominated the medal table with 20 golds, Italy showcased remarkable consistency through Paola Chiumiento, and Asian stars from Chinese Taipei, Korea, and China strengthened their presence on the global stage. The championships, lauded for their record-breaking pace and thrilling relays, now set the stage for the 2026 World Skate Games in Paraguay.
