KUALA LUMPUR, October 18 – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Maybank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to position Malaysia as a premier global investment hub by aligning financial expertise with strategic investment facilitation.

Announced during IGEM 2025, the partnership will see both entities collaborate on targeted initiatives to attract high-value investments in key growth sectors such as E&E, EVs, digital economy, healthcare, and petrochemicals — in line with national frameworks like NIMP 2030, NETR, and the National Semiconductor Strategy.

MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid highlighted Maybank’s strong ASEAN presence as vital in bridging capital and opportunity, while Maybank President and Group CEO Dato’ Sri Khairussaleh Ramli emphasized the partnership’s role in driving sustainability and positioning Malaysia as a global Halal economy leader.
