KUALA LUMPUR, October 26 — United States President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia this morning aboard Air Force One to attend the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits, marking his first official visit since assuming office earlier this year.
He was received at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and senior Malaysian officials. Trump confirmed in a post on Truth Social that the long-awaited Thailand–Cambodia Peace Agreement will be signed upon his arrival in Malaysia.
The deal, brokered under U.S. mediation after months of border clashes that left over 40 dead, is expected to be a key highlight of the summit, symbolising renewed efforts toward regional stability and diplomacy.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Trump’s participation underscores a new chapter in Asean–U.S. relations, offering a platform for dialogue on shared priorities such as peace, trade, energy, and regional security.
Trump and Anwar are also set to hold a bilateral meeting, witness the peace accord signing, and join Asean leaders for an official dinner later tonight.
