GEORGE TOWN, October 31 – The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has announced a traffic flow change from two-way to one-way along part of Jalan Khidmat, Jalan Ayer Itam, effective Wednesday, 5 November 2025, from 8:30 a.m. onwards.
The adjustment will affect the stretch from Persiaran Abdullah Ariff to Lot 10002 (The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) and Persiaran Abdullah Ariff to Lot 4779 (Taman Sri Indah Kampung Baru). The one-way system aims to reduce congestion, smoothen traffic flow, and minimise road conflicts in the area.
The change will be implemented on a trial basis for at least three months, after which its effectiveness will be evaluated.
