KUALA LUMPUR, November 12 — The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), in collaboration with the Federal Territories, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, has launched the Central Region Programme, a two-day initiative projected to contribute RM24.5 billion annually to Malaysia’s GDP.

The event, themed “Innovating Industries, Connecting Markets”, gathered over 800 industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to strengthen supply chain integration across key sectors such as aerospace, E&E, pharmaceuticals, and food manufacturing.

Supported by a newly signed MOU between MIDA and MRCB, the programme underscores Malaysia’s ecosystem-driven approach to industrialisation and includes benchmarking with the Netherlands’ Brainport Industries model, reinforcing the nation’s long-term commitment to coordinated, high-value industrial growth.
