KUALA LUMPUR, December 18 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Cabinet members to work with discipline, humility and integrity to ensure the swift and effective implementation of policies under the Madani government, stressing that ministers must engage with the people without delay or excuses.

In a Facebook post following the first Madani Cabinet meeting after yesterday’s reshuffle, Anwar said the Cabinet carries a great trust to take immediate action, make bold decisions and translate the aspirations of society into policies that are felt on the ground, not merely rhetoric.

The meeting marked the first gathering of the new Cabinet line-up after the reshuffle involving 28 ministers and deputy ministers, which included portfolio changes, six deputy minister appointments and one new face elevated to full minister, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency.

Anwar also shared images of the oath-taking of office, allegiance and secrecy by ministers and deputy ministers at Istana Negara, where seven ministers, including two newly appointed ones, were sworn in before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
