JOHOR BAHRU, January 2 – Johor Plantations Group Berhad (JPG) has reinforced its strategic position in renewable energy following the consolidation of JPG Greenergy Ventures Sdn Bhd (JPGGV) as a wholly owned subsidiary, after acquiring the remaining 45% equity stake from MTC Orec Sdn Bhd.

The move strengthens JPG’s Greenergy growth pillar, granting the Group full operational control over its renewable energy platform, which focuses on biomethane production, biogas upgrading, and the conversion of palm oil by-products into low-carbon energy solutions.

With full ownership, JPG aims to streamline execution, optimise capital allocation, and better integrate renewable energy into its core plantation operations, while aligning with Malaysia’s energy transition and net-zero ambitions and creating long-term value through reduced carbon intensity and diversified revenue streams.
