KANGAR, December 25 – PAS has terminated the membership of three Perlis state assemblymen with immediate effect under Clause 76 and Clause 15A(1)(b) of the PAS Constitution (2025 Amendment), escalating political tensions in the state.
PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision was made during a PAS Central Working Committee meeting and involved Chuping assemblyman Saad Seman, Bintong assemblyman Fakhrul Anwar Ismail, and Guar Sanji assemblyman Mohd Ridzuan Hashim.
He added that PAS would formally notify the Speaker of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly in accordance with Article 50A(1)(a)(ii) of the state constitution.
The expulsions come amid reports that Perikatan Nasional assemblymen had earlier met the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, with a majority allegedly withdrawing support for Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, further intensifying uncertainty over the state’s political stability.
