KUALA LUMPUR, January 20 — Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will restructure selected bus routes in the Klang Valley effective January 16 as part of efforts to enhance service efficiency and reliability. In the first phase, 16 MRT feeder routes and three standard Rapid KL routes.
Will be fully converted to the Rapid KL On-Demand service due to low daily passenger numbers, representing about seven per cent of the 281 bus routes operated by Rapid KL, including MRT and LRT feeder services.
Acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said the move is based on findings from the Demand-Led Bus Network Study initiated in mid-2024, which analysed actual passenger usage patterns to better align routes and schedules with demand.
He assured that passenger access will remain uninterrupted through the Rapid KL On-Demand service, which can be booked via the Rapid On-Demand mobile app, with ongoing updates to be provided through official Rapid KL channels.
