KUALA LUMPUR, February 1 — The Social Enterprise Accelerator Malaysia (SEAM) Closing Summit 2026 marked the successful conclusion of SEAM Cohort 1, spotlighting 10 Malaysian social enterprises delivering measurable impact across inclusive employment, circular economy and waste management, as well as sustainable agriculture.

Organised by Biji-biji Initiative in partnership with IKEA Social Entrepreneurship and supported by IKEA Malaysia, the 15-month accelerator demonstrated how social enterprises can move beyond grant dependency to become business- and corporate-ready, amid rising income disparities and growing ESG expectations for Malaysian companies.

The summit brought together corporate leaders, policymakers and ecosystem builders through initiatives such as Impact Xchange and Corporate × Impact Business Speed Dating, enabling direct engagement and scalable partnership opportunities.

Social enterprises showcased solutions ranging from dignified employment for underserved communities and circular waste innovations to indigenous-led sustainable agriculture, highlighting their role in job creation, community resilience and sustainability.

As SEAM closes its first cohort, the programme is set to expand through upcoming intakes, reinforcing social enterprises as key partners in Malaysia’s inclusive and sustainable economic future.
