PUTRAJAYA, January 26 — Former investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has been appointed as an ex-officio member of PKR’s Political Bureau following a meeting of the party’s Central Leadership Council (MPP) today.
His appointment, announced by PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil, underscores KEADILAN’s move to strengthen its leadership ranks with experienced figures, as the MPP reviewed the implementation of key MADANI Government initiatives.
Including the National Education Plan, enhancements to people-centric aid programmes such as STR and SARA, and firm measures to combat corruption and cartel activities. The MPP also named Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Mohammed Taufiq Johari and Dato’ Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid as ex-officio members of the Political Bureau.
While several leaders were appointed as ex-officio members of the MPP. In addition, the council confirmed that PKR’s National Congress will be held in Melaka from June 25 to 28, 2026, with further details to be announced by party headquarters.
