KUCHING, January 30 — Kuching City FC secured their place in the Piala Malaysia 2025/2026 after defeating Penang FC 2–0 in the second leg at Stadium Negeri Kuching, sealing a 2–1 aggregate victory.
Both goals came in first-half stoppage time, with goals from No.19 (45+1) and No.18 (45+2), giving the home side a decisive edge. Played under rainy conditions and a temperature of 26°C, the match drew 5,087 spectators and saw no major incidents.
Penang FC were unable to respond despite added time of three minutes in each half, as Kuching City FC held firm to close out the tie. The match was officiated by MFL Match Commissioner Nizam bin Ahmad.
