KLANG, March 14 — Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre (BTMC) has become the first private hospital in Malaysia to perform SuperSaturated Oxygen (SSO₂) Therapy, an advanced post-angioplasty treatment designed to reduce heart muscle damage in patients suffering from severe “widowmaker” heart attacks.
Potentially improving long-term survival and quality of life. Introduced as part of BTMC’s commitment to advancing cardiac care, the therapy targets microvascular heart muscle injury that can persist even after blocked arteries are reopened, addressing a key risk factor for future heart failure.
As highlighted by Consultant Cardiologist Dr Shathiskumar Govindaraju and reinforced by BTMC’s leadership in expanding access to evidence-based, advanced heart treatments in Malaysia.
