HULU KELANG, February 8 — Selangor PKR must secure a strong showing in the next election to ensure Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains prime minister for a second term, Selangor Menteri Besar and PKR chief Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said at the Selangor PKR convention today.

Urging party members to begin groundwork as early as Ramadan, Amirudin said efforts should focus on strengthening party divisions, regaining lost seats and highlighting national achievements under Anwar’s leadership, warning against complacency despite Pakatan Harapan’s recovery in the 15th General Election.

He stressed that Selangor’s contribution of 12 to 14 parliamentary seats would be critical not only to defending the state government but also to sustaining PKR’s influence at the federal level, cautioning that failure to deliver could jeopardise both Anwar’s second term in Putrajaya and Pakatan Harapan’s continued rule in Selangor.
