GEORGE TOWN, February 11 – Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) has announced the temporary closure of the Jeep Track at Penang Botanic Gardens for hiking and cycling from March 2 to December 31, 2026, effective Monday to Saturday.
The closure is a precautionary safety measure as heavy construction vehicles will be using the route during the ramp-up of works for the Penang Hill Cable Car and Astaka Bukit Bendera Redevelopment projects, ensuring the smooth and incident-free progress of construction.
PHC thanked the public for their patience and understanding, adding that the measure is necessary to protect visitors while major infrastructure works are underway. The corporation advised hikers and cyclists to follow PHC’s official channels for updates and information on alternative routes during the closure period.
