KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 – Dumex Dugro and MYDIN have launched a nationwide initiative to raise awareness of Iron Deficiency Anaemia among children as Malaysia enters the Ramadan season.
Affecting about one in three Malaysian children, IDA can cause fatigue, poor concentration and stunted growth. During Ramadan, disrupted meal patterns and common iftar foods that are low in iron may increase the risk.
Making early awareness and prevention especially important for families. The initiative includes educational booths at Ramadan bazaars such as Stadium Shah Alam offering free IDA risk assessments, questionnaires and nutrition guidance.
Led by Danone through its Generasi Kuat Zat Besi programme, the campaign will run across MYDIN’s 65 stores nationwide. For every participating Dugro pack purchased from March to April 2026, RM1 will be contributed.
With around 3,000 packs set to be donated to orphans and low-income families through MYDIN Prihatin.
