KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 – Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said victims of online sexual harassment can seek justice through the Anti-Sexual Harassment Tribunal.

Which allows individuals to file complaints and pursue legal action without the need for a lawyer. She noted that the tribunal, established in March 2024.

Is designed to be accessible and aims to resolve cases within 60 days. Speaking at the launch of the Selangor DAP Women’s Free Legal Advice Programme in conjunction with International Women’s Day.

Teo highlighted the growing challenge of identifying anonymous offenders online. She also warned about the rise of AI-driven digital abuse such as deepfake pornography, which often targets women.

Teo stressed that technology companies must take responsibility and ensure stronger accountability and inclusive governance in managing digital platforms.
