KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 – The latest search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared 12 years ago with 239 people aboard, has concluded without yielding any findings, Malaysia’s Air Accident Investigation Bureau confirmed.
Led by deep-sea exploration firm Ocean Infinity, the operation covered roughly 7,571 square kilometres of the southern Indian Ocean in two phases, ending on January 23. Despite deploying advanced autonomous underwater drones.
No wreckage or new information about the Boeing 777 was discovered. Families of the passengers have urged the Malaysian government to extend Ocean Infinity’s contract to continue the search. While the latest efforts brought no results.
Ocean Infinity’s CEO, Oliver Plunkett, said the cleared search area provides valuable clarity for future missions. The government reaffirmed its commitment to keeping affected families informed and supporting ongoing investigations.
Flight MH370 remains one of aviation’s greatest enduring mysteries, with the fate of the aircraft and those on board still unresolved.
