KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 – The Transport Ministry will implement a temporary ban on heavy vehicles on March 19–20 and March 28–29 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the measure aims to improve road safety as traffic volume typically increases during the holiday period.
The Road Transport Department has been instructed to enforce the ban strictly. Loke also urged travellers to prioritise safety when returning to their hometowns.
Advising motorists to check their vehicles and follow speed limits. He added that authorities will closely monitor land transport operations during the festive period to ensure smooth and safe travel.
