PERMATANG PAUH, March 13 – Tourism Malaysia organised a Ramadan Iftar event in Permatang Pauh as part of efforts to promote community-based tourism under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

The event, held at Homestay Mengkuang Titi, was attended by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and attracted more than 800 participants, including Universiti Sains Malaysia students, local residents and tourism industry partners from the northern region.

The programme highlighted Malaysia’s rich culture, traditions and communal harmony while giving visitors a unique Ramadan experience. Guests had the opportunity to explore Ramadan bazaars, participate in religious activities and enjoy traditional dishes.

Such as Bubur Lambuk, Nasi Briyani and Roti Jala. The event also showcased the success of community-based tourism, helping generate economic opportunities for local residents while strengthening Malaysia’s image as a culturally rich and welcoming travel destination.
