KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 – Malaysia’s Global Business Services (GBS) industry is encouraged to expand beyond the Klang Valley and Penang by developing centres that leverage state-specific strengths.
Industry leaders say locations such as Johor, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak could play key roles in supporting the sector’s continued growth.
Experts noted that each state could focus on specialised services, such as customer support, analytics or oil and gas-related work.
The move aims to diversify the industry’s footprint while strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for global business services.
