KOTA KINABALU, March 16 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement as stipulated under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Speaking at a Madani breaking-of-fast event at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Anwar said the government recognises the claim as final and not subject to appeal, stressing that Putrajaya remains fully committed to honouring the agreement for the benefit of Sabah and its people.

He clarified that the federal government’s court action is not an appeal against the 40 per cent entitlement but is aimed at seeking clarification on parts of the High Court judgment that questioned the roles of past national and Sabah leaders.

Anwar said the government only intends to correct statements he believes unfairly affected the reputations of several former leaders while maintaining that Sabah’s constitutional revenue rights remain undisputed.
