GEORGE TOWN, March 17 — Penang state executive councillor Wong Hon Wai recently conducted a site visit to inspect the progress of the new highway project connecting Farlim to Lebuh Tun Lim Chong Eu.
He noted that during his previous inspection before Chinese New Year, all beam installations at the Farlim section had been completed as scheduled. The project has now entered the bridge deck construction stage.
Wong said he drove onto the under-construction elevated highway via a ramp and personally walked along the structure for a closer look, accompanied by the engineering team and contractors.
He added that upcoming works will include diaphragm installation, deck casting, deck slab construction, and parapet works. With beam launching completed at Farlim, no further major junction closures are expected. Further updates will be shared after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
