KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — Lingkaran Cekap Sdn Bhd (LCSB) will begin a trial run of its road charge system for Jalan Genting Highlands on April 2, ahead of full implementation.
The test will take place at Genting Sempah and Gohtong Jaya entry points, where motorists are required to tap their Touch ‘n Go or bank cards at gantries.
Although no payment will be charged during this phase. The initiative aims to ensure the system functions smoothly while maintaining safe access to Resorts World Genting and nearby attractions.
Genting Malaysia Berhad previously confirmed the road charge based on a “user pays” principle to support maintenance and emergency services.
Authorities said the system is designed as a sustainable approach to manage rising costs while ensuring convenience for motorists and visitors.
