PUTRAJAYA, March 26 — The Malaysian government will enforce a ban on the purchase and sale of subsidised RON95 petrol to foreign-registered vehicles starting April 1, announced Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

Previously, only petrol station operators faced penalties, but the new enforcement extends offences to drivers and owners of foreign vehicles.

The move aims to curb smuggling and abuse of fuel subsidies, particularly in border areas, under the OPS Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) initiative.

Datuk Armizan urged the public and businesses to comply fully, warning that KPDN will take strict action against any violators. He also called on citizens to report suspicious activities as part of the KITA GEMPUR agenda.

Meanwhile, he reassured Malaysians that the supply of essential goods will remain sufficient despite rising logistics and packaging costs from the Middle East conflict.

Thanks to strengthened cooperation between the government and the Malaysia Retail Association. This dual approach aims to safeguard both fuel subsidy integrity and national supply stability.
