PUTRAJAYA, March 26 – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today addressed the nation, highlighting the impact of the Middle East conflict on Malaysia and the need for proactive measures.
He stressed that although the country remains peaceful, disruptions in the Gulf, Iran, and surrounding regions have affected global supply chains, including oil, gas, and food.
Anwar confirmed that Malaysia is actively engaging with regional leaders, including Iran, Egypt, Turkiye, and Pakistan, to seek peace and ensure the safe return of Malaysian personnel and vessels.
He also outlined plans for stricter enforcement to curb smuggling and abuse, alongside temporary fuel rationing for public and goods transport.
Flexible work arrangements, including staggered work-from-home schedules for public servants, are being introduced to maintain productivity.
The Prime Minister urged Malaysians to remain disciplined, vigilant, and cooperative, assuring that the government will continue safeguarding national resources.
