IPOH, March 28 — Schools may be temporarily closed if temperatures exceed 37°C for three consecutive days, said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh.

He said the measure follows existing ministry guidelines introduced in 2023 and can be activated as the ongoing hot spell intensifies.

Wong added that outdoor activities must be suspended if temperatures reach between 35°C and 37°C for three straight days.

School administrators, including principals and district education offices, have been instructed to closely monitor daily temperature levels to ensure student safety.
