SEREMBAN, April 3 — Malaysia will issue a diplomatic note to reject renewed claims over Sabah following remarks by Philippine senator Robin Padilla.

Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan stressed that Sabah’s status as part of Malaysia is final, citing a legitimate process verified by the United Nations.

He said such claims are longstanding and often raised by individuals, not reflecting the official stance of the Philippine government.

Mohamad added that bilateral ties remain unaffected, as both nations continue to maintain strong relations.

Malaysia, he said, will firmly reject any unfounded claims while preserving diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
