KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh announced plans to install additional CCTV cameras around Petronas Twin Towers.
To tackle illegal “photo touts” targeting tourists. Discussions will be held with KLCC management and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to enhance surveillance and identify offenders operating without permits.
The move follows the detention of 18 unlicensed photographers linked to a recent altercation involving a tourist. Yeoh also urged increased police and enforcement patrols to prevent harassment.
Stressing that such incidents could harm Malaysia’s image. Authorities are continuing investigations to ensure tourist safety and maintain public order in the area.
