KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — Malaysia’s King, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, received a briefing on the Online Safety Act 2025 (ONSA 2025) during a royal audience at Istana Bukit Tunku.

The presentation was delivered by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, outlining measures to enhance online safety for families and children.

The act introduces stricter responsibilities for online platforms and age verification rules to prevent children under 16 from opening social media accounts.

It also aims to tackle fake accounts targeting the Malay Rulers, reinforcing efforts to ensure a safer and more secure digital environment.
