KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh, alongside Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri TPr Fadlun Mak Ujud, visited the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC last night to monitor unlicensed “photo touts” targeting tourists.
Yeoh spent over an hour observing how the touts approached visitors, emphasizing that ensuring tourist safety and preventing exploitation is a top priority.
The visit follows a recent incident at KLCC where 18 unlicensed photographers were detained after a scuffle with a tourist.
Authorities plan to strengthen enforcement through increased patrols and additional CCTV cameras to curb the illegal operations and enhance public safety in the area.
