KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that starting 15 April 2026, all ministries, government agencies, statutory bodies, and GLCs will implement Work From Home (WFH) or Flexible Working Arrangements (FWA).
The move aims to reduce fuel consumption and ensure the sustainability of Malaysia’s energy supply amid the prolonged West Asia conflict, which has disrupted global oil markets.
Highlighting that “it is no longer business as usual,” Anwar emphasized that the government’s early interventions, including the Rakyat Support Initiative and targeted fuel subsidies, are designed to cushion the impact on citizens.
Detailed guidelines for the flexible working arrangements will be announced soon. The Prime Minister also urged Malaysians to remain vigilant against misinformation, which he described as a threat to national stability during this extraordinary period.
