KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is helping the government secure sufficient oil and gas supply for the country until at least May.
He described the planning as crucial in supporting national stability amid ongoing global energy uncertainties. Anwar added that the government has activated the National Economic Action Council and implemented measures to manage fuel consumption and ensure energy security.
He also noted that early steps, including more moderate Aidilfitri celebrations and austerity measures, have been introduced to cushion the impact of the global energy crisis on the rakyat and maintain economic resilience.
