JOHOR BAHRU, April 5 — Anthony Loke confirmed that the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link remains on schedule for its January 2027 opening

With costs staying within original estimates despite the global energy crisis. He said no contractors have requested cost revisions, reflecting stable project management amid economic uncertainty.

Construction is nearing completion, with the project now entering system installation and testing phases, expected to conclude by end-2026.

The 4km link connecting Bukit Chagar and Woodlands North will carry up to 10,000 passengers per hour per direction.

Loke added that strong Malaysia-Singapore coordination has ensured smooth progress, with testing ongoing and final readiness targeted later this year ahead of full operations.
