KUALA KANGSAR, April 5 — Anwar Ibrahim has called for unity and constructive engagement across political lines as Malaysia navigates the ongoing global energy crisis.

He said the government remains open to discussions with the opposition and other stakeholders, stressing that criticism should be grounded in facts rather than rhetoric.

Anwar noted that rising global oil prices are beyond national control, but the government continues efforts to cushion the impact through subsidies, including maintaining affordable RON95 fuel prices.

He emphasised that cooperation is crucial during challenging times, with RM6 billion in monthly subsidies supporting key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and public transport.

Speaking at a community event, Anwar urged all parties to prioritise national interest over political point-scoring.

Highlighting the need for informed dialogue to address economic pressures affecting both Malaysia and the wider global economy.
