KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 — Former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli defended his criticisms of the party and government, saying they are intended to address weaknesses and strengthen governance.

The Pandan MP stressed that his remarks focus on national interests, including institutional integrity, and reflect PKR’s long-standing principles of accountability, even while in power.

Rafizi said constructive criticism should not be abandoned now that PKR leads the government, noting that effective responses from authorities would resolve public concerns.

Responding to calls for him to leave the party, he warned that doing so would only make him “more dangerous” as a critic.

He also raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest in the Madani Mart initiative, urging transparency while supporting efforts to improve market competition and keep prices affordable.
