PUTRAJAYA, April 8 – The Malaysian government has officially opened applications for Phase 4 of the Media Innovation Fund. Aimed at empowering the country’s media ecosystem through technology adaptation and talent development.


The initiative covers four main areas: training for media personnel, adoption of new technologies, acquisition or rental of technical equipment, and content R&D, including AI-driven innovations.
Eligible applicants include local government and private media organisations registered with the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) and staff holding a valid Media Certification Card (KPM).
Applications must be submitted between 1 and 14 April 2026 through the Ministry of Communications portal, with all supporting documents attached.


Successful applicants will receive official offer letters, while unsuccessful ones will be notified via email. Each organisation may submit one application per phase but can apply under multiple scopes. Processing is expected to take up to 30 working days.
