KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 – The Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) has called on the Department of Environment (JAS) in Negeri Sembilan.
To take firm action against those responsible for polluting Sungai Marong near Kampung Lakai, Jelebu. The incident reportedly turned the river water black and foamy.
Leading to fish deaths and raising serious environmental concerns. CAP urged a thorough investigation under the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
And called for authorities to disclose findings on water quality and fish samples. The group warned of risks to public health and fishermen’s livelihoods.
Urging fair compensation for affected communities and stricter enforcement to prevent future incidents.
