KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim assured that Malaysia has sufficient fuel supply to meet domestic demand until June, despite ongoing tensions in West Asia.

Speaking at the Kuala Lumpur-Ankara Dialogue 2026, he credited Petronas for maintaining strong ties with global oil-producing nations, ensuring stable supply.

He added that Malaysia, while an oil producer, remains a net importer due to its focus on premium-grade products.

Anwar also confirmed adequate liquefied natural gas (LNG) reserves, supported by domestic output and partnerships with countries such as Australia and Canada.

He thanked Masoud Pezeshkian for guaranteeing safe passage for Malaysian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

The first Malaysian ship has already transited safely, with seven vessels granted passage following recent diplomatic engagements.
